Study of village in India and its Transformation

How the Transformation take place in the village:

Since 2012, there has been seen a change in the life of people residing in the village Khajuriya. What is the reason behind this?
The transformation of Broad Gauge Railway line from Narrow Gauge line is the main reason behind this. How?
First, Khajuriya village lie in the district headquarter Naugarh of Siddharthnagar where various amenities are belonged like, District Hospital, Tehsil, Block, Post Office, Banks, Police Station etc.
What are the changes come in one’s life after 2012 and what was the problem they suffer before 2012?
      STAGE-01:
From the very beginning, when Naugarh Railway Station founded, it was Narrow Gauge line running between Gorakhpur junction and Gonda Junction.
People have to change line (from narrow gauge to broad gauge) at junction station to move on to large cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
There is timing difference (sometimes the gap is long as 24hrs to 30 hrs) due to which they spend their time on railway platform.
As it was not much difficult for a mature person but in the age group between 15-20, were feeling insecure among the family members when they want to go out for search of employment or for purpose of higher education.
Now, family members also come to junction station to see off their children due to this there is obstruct in their daily work. So, they find out solution for this problem by defining an age limit for whom those wanted to go out for search of jobs or for getting education.
The people residing in the village are already involve in agricultural activities, but their children do not show any interest on their parental work ie; in agriculture,  so they find other way of occupation (locational advantage), ie, rickshaw pullers, auto driver, paan shop, tea stall, PCO etc. But for all the descriptive self employed occupation they have to find location like Railway Station, Hospital, Banks etc, so they came to Naugarh and start living in Khajuriya Village.

      STAGE-02:
After Broad Gauge line introduce in 2008 which extend up to Lucknow, the capital city of the state. People start to move on for Health, Employment, and education. But the problem is still there for whom who wanted to go Mumbai, Delhi because they still have to change train from Lucknow junction.
      STAGE-03 :
From 2012 and afterward, Now train goes directly to cities like Delhi & Mumbai (5-Trains for Mumbai & 5-Trains for Delhi in a week). Due to this following changes are seen in the socio-economic activities of the people living in Khajuriya Village:
  1. On loan, parents purchase Auto rickshaw & E-rickshaw for their children by which they keep their children busy and out of criminal activities. Some income also generate for their family.
  2. People from nearby villages also came to live here on rental basis whose doesn’t afford to buy and generate some employment for their own.
  3. There is increase in land price due to people try to buy land on road for commercial purpose.
  4. There is more passenger car for Nepal Boarder due to the birth place of lord Buddha is only 20km from Naugarh railway station and hence tourists also come directly from Delhi & Mumbai.
  5. There is investment in occupation like, Guest House, Lodge, and Restaurant etc.
      STAGE-04 : (Two-way Development)
Here two-way Development mean that at the One side we can see the people from nearby villages come to the village Khajuriya & on rental basis they open some shops, and due to this the villagers also earn money by providing their front portion of house on rent (from 650/month to 2500/month in year gap of 2008-2018).
Secondly, on the other side we can see the people of age group 15-20 can migrate for employment /education, due to which income generate in family who does nothing living in the village.
On Khajuriya road, there are at least 300-350 shops  which are serves as on rental basis in which shops like cloth shops, whole sale, tailor shops, travel agency office, barber shops, electrical shops, medical shops etc are in plenty.

EKISTICS (An Understanding as Urban Planner)

• The term Ekistics was coined by Greek architect and urban planner Konstantinos Apostolos Doxiadis in 1942. • Applies to the science of human settlements . • Includes regional, city, community planning and dwelling design. This science, termed Ekistics , will take into consideration • the principles man takes into account when building his settlements , as well • as the evolution of human settlements through history in terms of size and quality . • The target is to build the city of optimum size , that is, a city which respects human dimensions. • Since there is no point in resisting development, we should try to accommodate technological evolution and the needs of man with in the same settlement. • ACCORDING TO DOXIADIS In order to create the cities of the future, we need to systematically develop a science of human settlements. • Ekistics aims to encompass all scales of human habitation and seeks to learn from the archeological and historical record
